Stage Cafe @ Mahkota Cheras || Shu Yi’s review

It was few weeks ago, when my friend, Christina and I were attracted to the big “Stage” signage from the ground floor. The cafe which is located on the first floor has been operating since 3rd Dec 2015. It has a unique yet classy setup with wood as their theme.

This 3 month-old cafe is located in Mahkota Cheras. If you love coffee, pastry and bread, head down to this cafe and enjoy their freshly baked items and coffee. Although I am not a coffee person, I love their ice chocolate very much! 🙂 I managed to chat a little with Ms. Wan Ying who is in-charge of service crew. Their coffee is imported from Sumatra and Brazil, not to mention they also have a collection of coffee bean in jars displayed on their wooden shelf. She is the youngest sister among the three sisters who are partners of the cafe. The eldest is the head chef, the second sister is the pastry chef and they also have a well-known barista who is on-board their team. Their vision is simple as they believe that a “stage” (platform) will be able to change their passion into reality.

The cafe is divided into 3 sections, which is the Pastry Bar and Counter, Brew Bar and Espresso Bar. I personally think that the night view is pretty awesome due to the all-round window concept. As I visited them during tea time around 4pm, the cafe was brightly lit without much light required.

I would believe their interior designer- Sam Lui did lots of careful planning and sourcing the right materials to setup this cafe. Sam Lui is the Creative Director of Spazzio Design and you can contact him at spazziodesign89@gmail.com for enquiry.
